These chillers are quiet and are available from 100 tons to 4,000 tons. Centrifugal chillers are most compatible with VFD. These chillers should be field assembled when the capacity reaches more than 4000 tons. Centrifugal chillers have lower kw/ton versus Screw Type (rotary) or Scroll chillers and they are more efficient than Screw and Scroll types. The common refrigerant in Centrifugal chillers are R-134a and R-123.
